Luxurious Seven Stars Train in Japan Rivals the Orient Express
June 19, 2024 in Travel & Destinations by Julian Everett
The Seven Stars train, traversing the picturesque island of Kyushu, Japan, stands as a worthy competitor to the iconic Orient Express. This luxurious train doesn't merely match the famed historical train in comfort; it arguably surpasses it.
Named not for a seven-star service, though it might seem so compared to European standards, the "Seven Stars" reflects Kyushu's seven prefectures and the train's seven cars. Among these, one serves as a lounge, another as a restaurant, and the remaining five house just ten cabins for a maximum of 20 guests. Notably, two of these cars are reserved exclusively for Japanese nationals.
Offering a lavish three-night, four-day journey, the experience is far from inexpensive. Yet, the demand is so high that reservations are determined by lottery. Currently, applications are being accepted for trips in 2025.
